Kerry Food Showcased in the Capital
Artisan produce carefully chosen from the larder of Kerry were the main ingredients of a sumptuous banquet, hosted by Killarney Convention Centre in association with The Guerrilla Gourmet Club, in Dublin’s Hugh Lane Gallery at the weekend.
The event, which was attended by key decision makers from the conference and events sector nationally, showcased the exceptional food on offer in The Kingdom. Dingle Gin, Crean’s Craft Beer, Murphy’s Ice Cream and Lorge Chocolate were all used in the creation of the uniquely crafted menu.
Executive Chef John Drummond, who celebrates twenty years service at Killarney Convention Centre, presented his new signature dish – Dexter Beef Chateaubriand served with watercress whiskey and fennel butter, Béarnaise and fondant potato.
“The artisan produce of Kerry is exceptional,” said John. “Every good chef knows that excellent ingredients are key when creating a menu and we are privileged to work with some of the finest local produce there is. Gala banquets are an integral part of the conference itinerary. Organisers expect nothing short of excellence for their delegates and it is up to me and my team at Killarney Convention Centre to exceed their expectations.”
“At Killarney Convention Centre we believe food should be a work of art. Our chefs are artists creating bespoke dishes unique to us, dishes that reflect and represent our magnificent surroundings,” said Breffni Ingerton, General Manager of Killarney Convention Centre.
Killarney Convention Centre has hosted banquets for many of the world’s leading companies including Google, IBM and Glaxo Smith Kline.
