Our Technical Team
Kieran Somers
Assistant Technical Manager
Kieran has worked his way through the ranks at Killarney Convention Centre, one of Ireland’s largest venues, from Stage Hand to Assistant Technical Manager over the last decade. Killarney Convention Centre sits under the umbrella of the Gleneagle Group which also runs a growing number of smaller venues. We run a wide range of ever-changing events, from sports to corporate, as well as live entertainment within the Group as a whole.
Kieran is also the the venue’s in-house Lighting Designer.
Life within Killarney Convention Centre and the Gleneagle Group is never dull having hosted major Google, IBM, O2 and Harley Davidson corporate events over the years.
Recently, Kieran has also become more involved in the bigger picture of event organisation, production managing from start to finish a number of large in-house events such as the Adventure Travel World Summit and Ireland’s largest folk festival, Ireland Folkfest.
When possible, to keep life interesting, Kieran has also taken on projects outside of Killarney Convention Centre. As a side project, Kieran is now looking at running events himself through his new endeavour, Act Backers Ireland which is in the process of launching.
Kieran has also completed a number of on-line creative writing courses and enjoys reading, writing and eating out immensely.
